“Family Frames”

An Invitation for Participation and Collaboration on Art in the San Francisco Mission District.

Community members and fellow artists are encouraged to interact with and add to the photographs, fostering a collective art-making process.

Memory Collective is a public collaboration between the artist and the community inviting individuals to partake in street art that merges the intimacy of family memories with the dynamic pulse of urban expression. Family photographs have been placed across the neighborhood, seamlessly integrating them into the urban backdrop. These images converge and contrast with the existing plethora of street art, advertisements, and building materials, infusing them with personal stories and transforming them into public art pieces.

Over time, these photographs undergo a fascinating metamorphosis, influenced by weather, human intervention, and spontaneous artist contributions. The result is a dynamic urban tapestry that mirrors the diverse narratives and interactions within our vibrant community and our communal memory.
